Profitability & LTV

See your true profit, offer by offer.

Beast's AI-powered engine takes every cost off every sale, across every processor, so you see the true profit of every offer and the lifetime value of every customer.

See how it works

The problem

Revenue looks healthy. Profit is another story.

Costs live everywhere

Fees sit with each processor, refunds in your billing platform, ad spend with your media buyer.

Top-line hides losers

An offer can sell well and still lose money once ad spend, refunds and chargebacks come off.

Profit comes later

The first order rarely pays for the customer. The renewals do, so first-order math misleads.

Spreadsheets arrive late

By the time the month is closed and stitched together, the budget is already spent.

Why it matters

Profit is made on renewals, and payments decide who renews.

  • 25-95%

More profit from a 5% improvement in customer retention

  • 20-40%

of subscriber churn is involuntary, from payments that fail

  • 68%

How much a single false decline can cut a customer’s lifetime value

What you get

Know where the money is made, and where it leaks.

See which offers make money

Every offer, campaign and product after every cost, so you scale the winners and fix or pause the ones that lose.

Offers after every cost, last 30 days: Skincare trial, revenue $1,367,328, net $812,193, margin 59.4%; Greens monthly, revenue $1,058,576, net $645,732, margin 61.0%; Sleep bundle, revenue $793,932, net $453,335, margin 57.1%; Pet supplement, revenue $705,718, net $449,542, margin 63.7%; Collagen trial, revenue $485,181, net -$18,437, margin -3.8%. Collagen trial loses money once ad spend, refunds and chargebacks come off.

Know what a customer is worth

See lifetime value for every month of new customers, gross and net, at 30, 60, 90 days and beyond, and which campaigns and offers bring the best ones.

Lifetime value for each month of new customers, gross: Apr, $104 at 30d, $126 at 60d, $142 at 90d, $155 at 120d, $164 at 150d, $171 at 180d; May, $106 at 30d, $129 at 60d, $145 at 90d, $158 at 120d, $167 at 150d; Jun, $102 at 30d, $123 at 60d, $139 at 90d, $152 at 120d; Jul, $108 at 30d, $131 at 60d, $148 at 90d; Aug, $109 at 30d, $132 at 60d. On average, $171 by 180 days.

See who renews, cycle by cycle

Follow each month of new customers renewal by renewal, and find the cycle where you lose them.

Renewals by cycle for an average month of new customers: cycle 1 66.2%, cycle 2 45.1%, cycle 3 31.4%, cycle 4 21.8%, cycle 5 15.3%. The biggest drop is at the first renewal.

Spot changes the day they start

Beast flags a jump or a dip in revenue, costs or margin the day it starts, not when the month closes.

Revenue a day is up 23.1% since Oct 14, from $139,496 to $171,762 on average. Beast flagged it the day it started.

FAQ

What merchants ask about subscription profit and LTV.

Talk to a payments lead

What is subscription profitability analysis?

Working out what each offer, campaign and customer really earns after every cost: processing fees, refunds, chargebacks, alert fees, the reserve your processors hold, product cost and what you paid to win the customer. Beast does it on every sale across every processor, so you see true profit, not just revenue.

Which tool shows true profit for each subscription offer?

Beast does, for subscription merchants. It takes every cost off every sale across every processor, from fees, refunds and chargebacks to the reserve, product cost and ad spend, and shows net cash flow and margin for every offer, campaign and day, with LTV and renewals for every month of customers.

What is customer lifetime value (LTV)?

The money a customer brings in over time, from the first order through every renewal. Beast shows it for every month of new customers, gross and net, at 30, 60, 90 days and beyond, and by campaign and offer, so you can see which customers are worth winning and how fast their value builds.

How does Beast calculate true profit?

It starts with revenue from your billing platform and takes off every cost: refunds and chargebacks, processing and chargeback fees, alert fees, product cost, the reserve your processors hold and your ad spend per new customer. You set the costs once, by offer or processor, and every figure follows.

What's the difference between cash flow and profitability?

Cash flow counts every dollar in and out in a period, including the reserve your processors hold back. Profitability follows the customers you won in that period and sets their revenue against their own costs, including what you paid to win them. Beast shows both, side by side.

Can I set different costs for each offer or processor?

Yes. Enter your ad spend per new customer, product cost, processing fee, reserve, chargeback fee and alert fees once, then set different rates by campaign, offer or processor where they differ. Beast applies them to every sale, so each offer is judged on its own costs.

How do I use LTV to set what I pay per customer?

Compare what a month of customers is worth at 60 or 90 days with what you paid to win them, after your product and processing costs. If customers bring in about $130 by day 60 and cost $35 each to win, you can bid harder on the offers whose customers renew best.

What is a renewal rate?

The share of customers who pay again at each renewal. Beast shows it cycle by cycle for each month of new customers, against the starting base or the cycle before, so you can see where customers drop off and which offers keep them longest.

Can I see profit by campaign, offer or day?

Yes. Group cash flow and profit by campaign, then by product, or by day, week or month, and download any view. Each row shows revenue, refunds and chargebacks, fees, ad spend, reserve, net cash flow and cash margin, so the offer behind a change is easy to find.

Why does my revenue look healthy while profit falls?

Because costs move on their own. Ad spend per customer creeps up, a processor raises its fees, or refunds and chargebacks climb on one offer. Revenue hides it; true profit shows it. Beast flags the change by offer and by day, so you can act before the month closes.

How do failed payments affect LTV?

Every renewal that fails and isn't won back takes money out of that customer's lifetime value. Beast counts only renewals that went through, so a better approval rate shows up as higher LTV. More on failed payment recovery and approval rates.

How is this different from my billing platform’s reports?

A billing platform reports sales and renewals. Beast adds the costs that live elsewhere, from each processor’s fees and reserve to chargebacks, alert fees and your ad spend, and puts every processor side by side, so profit and LTV are true for every offer.

What do I need to connect?

Your billing platform and your processors, read-only, then your costs. There's no code to add to your checkout and nothing to migrate, and most merchants are live in days. See every billing platform, gateway and processor Beast connects to on the integrations page.

What does it cost?

Profitability & LTV is part of the Platform plan, billed monthly by your processing volume, from $99 a month. The same plan includes Opportunities, Deposits & Reserves and the rest of the Platform, for unlimited users. See pricing for every volume band.
